Strength Performance of the Connection between Brick and SPF Lumber

There are many ways to strengthen an unreinforced brick masonry wall. One of the strengthening methods applies timber, which is a lightweight and easy installation. The connection between timber wall plays important role. In this study, experimental theoretical were investigated, pullout shear strengths chemical anchor employed as clay SPF (spruce, pine, fir) lumber. Three bolt diameters (ø8, ø10, ø12 mm) utilized in nine tests two types eighteen tests. Four prediction models estimated strength anchor. European Yield Theory (EYT) expected anchor, involving six failure modes. results all experiments discussed mode, strength, stiffness under monotonic load. Finally, effective result study highlights A12 specimens using mm employing epoxy resin maximum load 12.1 kN, yield 11.2 kN.
